But back to the now undeniable representation that the idea of ??the Third Rome was not a program of the Russian state at the turn of the XV-XVI centuries. On the contrary, under Ivan III Rus widely and intensively "opens the door" to the world around it (it is clear, for example, of the aforementioned studies and KV Bazilevich AL Horoshkevich). And, ultimately, it had a dramatic effect. The spiritual development of Russia - and including, as we shall see, the development of indigenous culture - indeed undergone a severe test. Eternally inherent in Russian "mentality" extremism and maximalism led to the fact that on the uppermost state and church authorities began breaking immutable, it would seem, the foundations of spirituality.
