Struve, after many years, wrote in vain that Ulyanov was "absolutely devoid of any spirit of compromise." 17 The outcome of the discussions was that Lenin took as insulting to the title of his article Struve and significantly softened the very controversy, so that disputes were crowned, as he put it, "union of people who are very extreme moderate" 18. For its part, and Struve after this controversy "veering left" took, as noted by Martov, "a battle against capitalism note" 19 and has made a significant amendment to its "Critical Notes". "Let's go to learn from capitalism," - he wrote in an article intended for the collection - it does not mean, for me at least - "will serve the bourgeoisie," for capitalist relations involve more than one bourgeoisie and its antipode ... "
