It is the gift of the goddess of love and beauty, which is so 'chooses' his. Then, when Hephaestus doing all sorts of things, as if they were functional, beauty and love must manifest itself in the form, proportions, material. But then he will lose the joy and satisfaction from work. When the work is born from the union of Hephaestus and Aphrodite, it is in the creative process feels a touch of divinity.
