Not satisfied with this, on June 12 Mnishek forced Dmitry sign an additional obligation to grant him Smolensk and Seversk land, meaning that half of each of these areas will be handed over to the king (in compensation for that Mnishek had to get to the surrounding areas more areas). It is obvious that the main actors of this political game is not believed that Dmitry is the son of Ivan the Terrible, and least of all - Mniszek. Some Polish nobles openly expressed distrust of the whole story. "This is a scene from the comedy of Plautus or Terence?" - Sarcastically inquired Zamoyski. Dmitry is a convenient tool for Sapieha, Vyshnevetsky, Mnishek and the King Sigismund in their attempts to subdue Muscovy or at least to attach to the territory of western Moscow Rzeczpospolita. The pope and the Jesuits, in turn, want to use the impostor transplant Catholicism on Russian soil.
