He remains true to his promises. Perhaps Manachuryana group was somehow connected with the Union of Young Armenians (in any case, the investigation sought to provide evidence of such a link). The arrests and the courts for political reasons continued in Armenia and in 1982-1983. In 1982, members have been convicted so as Ashot Navasardyan and Azat Arshakyan.  In 1983, three of them were sentenced: geologist, the Academy of Sciences Georgy Homizuri (born 1940) - for the authorship of samizdat work "History of the CPSU Politburo" and for the dissemination of samizdat - faculty of Yerevan State University philologist Rafael Papayan (born in 1946) Edmund Avetyan and linguist (1950 gr.).  These three are not accused of belonging to the NOP, but samizdat activity contributed to the spread of the same ideas that inspire members of the NOP. It is noticeable that in the 80 years of age and social status of the Armenian National Movement activists have increased. The main requirement of the Armenian patriots remains Armenia's independence. Since the ability to achieve this goal in the foreseeable future is unlikely, and the repression of the support of this objective are cruel, the movement is doomed to small numbers, but to suppress it still can not be - arrested enthusiasts replaced by new, indicating that this idea rooted in the Armenian people.
