Black holes get their name from the hypothetical celestial bodies that are inaccessible to conventional astronomical techniques. Astronomers believe that the black hole is a lot of substance to the extent compressed, its heavy-duty gravity does not allow rays of light come out. It's as if Earth is packed in a suitcase. These findings are theoretical, since black holes can not be directly observed. Hence the metaphor for paleoanthropology: the veil of ignorance so firmly closes certain areas of the past, that they are totally obscure to us.
