Due to the fact that Buddhism was the dominant religion, and received from the state support, Goryeo built a lot of Buddhist monasteries. Only in the vicinity of the Goryeo capital it was built about 70 large and small monasteries. Since the buildings were mostly wooden, the most monasteries has been preserved practically nothing but the foundations of the pavilions and stone pagodas and statues of Buddha. Nevertheless, in the southern part of Korea, the least affected by the numerous wars, survived a series of wooden buildings of the monastery period of Koryo. This pavilion Kynnakchon Ponchzhonsa monastery and pavilion Muryan- suchzhon monastery Pusoksa North Gyeongsang Province, as well as the main hall of the monastery Tzunchzhon Sudeoksa Province South Chun-Cheon.
