The conspirators took advantage of a known, quality Heydrich - extraordinary courage. He traveled around the city without any protection and in an open car, next to him was just his driver. Reinhard route was well known to the inhabitants of Prague: he had not changed. So to make a terrorist attack was not a problem. On the morning of June 27, 1942, Heydrich was riding around the city as usual. But behind the wheel - this is after all a coincidence! - It was not an old and experienced driver Willie and the other driver - Klein. Willie knew how to act in unusual situations. Klein - did not know. And when the car was to make a turn on the road jumped a man in a raincoat. Heydrich understood instantly. "Click on the gas!" - He cried the novice, but he lost his head ... and slowed down. That brief moment was enough to man threw his cloak and pulled out a gun. But the machine refused! Then on the road flew grenade. She threw the second terrorist. The explosion crippled car, from neighboring houses smashed glass. The conspirators decided to flee, but behind them rushed the two wounded men - the driver and Klein, and Heydrich himself. The driver immediately got two fatal shots to the head. Heydrich managed to wound a saboteur, but it's the last thing he could do. He fell to the ground and lost consciousness. In himself, he never again came: he died of blood poisoning 4th of July.
